COVID-19 Update ( 05/7/2020)
The hammer finally fell, and the punch to the guts hurts as much as we thought it would.
We have always remained very hopeful that our season would soon begin, however it is now with great disappointment that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 season.
Due to the extension of stay-at-home orders by our governor through May 30, it has been decided by the Crosstown presidents to cancel the season. We hope you understand that this decision was made with the player’s safety and health in mind, as well as their families and volunteers. Nobody is more disappointed than we are.
Since the season never actually began before it ended, we are able to provide full refunds (minus a $5 processing fee) to all paid registrants--refund details will soon follow.
We hope you encourage your daughter to dedicate time to softball by practicing with family even though we won’t be playing official games this summer. It is important to practice the simple mechanics of throwing, catching, and hitting, every little bit helps…not to mention the FUN of it all! Fall Ball will be upon us before you know it and we will be ready!

Jr Warriors Softball is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organization. We offer girls (K-8th grade) recreational and competitive softball. The season begins at the end of April and will usually end by July 4th, weather permitting.
Jr Warriors Softball competes in the Crosstown League, playing teams across the north and northwest suburbs in their regular season schedule. As a feeder program for Maine West High School, the Jr. Warriors softball league serves to teach girls the basics and prepare them for the high school team.
Jr Warriors Softball is 100% run by volunteers, from board members to managers, coaches, and team parents. We are always looking for additional volunteers. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, please fill out the contact form on this page or contact any board member or league commissioner. Without volunteers, this league would not exist.

Refer a Friend
Our community league grows fastest when your daughters invite their friends to play. Receive a $15 discount if your daughter has a friend join the league (who is not a previous DPGS player).
Equipment List
Each player needs to provide a softball glove and athletic shoes. Non-metal spikes are required for older ages. Sliding protection is also required for the older grades. Either softball pants can be worn or shorts, with compression/undershorts and a sliding leg guard. They are available for purchase on the registration form.
The league can provide batting helmets and smaller bats for those who need them.
Typical Schedule and Important Dates
Online Registration starts on December 13, 2019.
Online Registration will close on March 2, 2020.
Two in person registration events will occur at Prairie Lakes on:
January 22 from 7-9 pm and
February 8 from 10 am -2 pm.
Player evaluations will be Saturday February 29th from 5 to 7 pm and March 1st from 12 to 2 pm
at the Des Plaines Park District Prairie Lakes Gym.
